It's my day to share on the Dots on Dots blog hop. Its been so fun to see what everyone has created with this theme. I made two blocks. One that stayed within the size guidelines and one that didn't! :)
The one that didn't is called "Roly Poly Owl" that I found on the blog "The Tulip Patch".
Mary made hers with a GO!Baby cutter which I don't have. Instead of making paper templates for the drunkards path I chose to use an acrylic set I already owned that finished at 4 inches...which is why mine is larger....it's 16 inches of cuteness!
The owls sew up fast and are easy peasy. I'm going to piece this block into the back of my grand daughters "I Spy" quilt that needs to made and finished in time for her second birthday.....in about 3 weeks! Yikes....yes, I've procrastinated on it!
The other block I made - which *is* 12 inches - is called "Blue Specs" from the Modern Blocks book...but I call it "I See Dots"....hee, hee.
I co-teach a block of the month class at my local quilt store using the Modern Blocks book. This is one of the blocks for Octobers class. By using the dotted fabrics from the lines I'm using it works for the hop and my class!
Here are the other blogs on the hop today. Be sure to go see what they made.

And thanks to Madame Samm & Corrie for all the fun they bring!
