I just had a long weekend with nothing on the calendar to take me from home. That meant lots of time to sew! I decided I wanted to work on something mindless and easy. Something that I didn't have to pay attention to details and could just enjoy the rhythm of the machine. I had just the project in mind.
I started by pulling a bunch of pinks from my stash.
I just love the pile of trimmings you get after squaring blocks down.
And here is the final quilt!
I saw this project tutorial on the Dear Stella blog. Its super fast to put together. And if you used a layer cake, it'd be even quicker. I think it will make a fun baby girl quilt...with the baby's name and birth date embroidered on the heart. :)

That is a sweet idea for a baby quilt - to embroider. Or perhaps someone's anniversary? Glad to see you had fun sewing this long weekend! Thanks so much for sharing at Sew Fresh Quilts!
That is super cute. I love seasonal quilts.
Hi I am visiting from Lets Bee Social. I love your block-I agree this will make into a pretty baby quilt. what will you do with all those pretty strings that were cut off?
Really cute! Love your piles of trimmings.
Super! Love pinks - never tire of seeing them and always amazed there's still some pink fabric out there not in my stash :)
Awww, how cute! I have a layer cake of Valentine fabrics that would be perfect for that! Thanks for the inspiration. Well done!
